Tap repairs Melbourne

Dripping tap or leaking mixer? Call 0478 414 129 and tell us where the tap is, how it is leaking and whether it still turns off.

Which tap needs attention?

A drip from the outlet, water around the handle and a leak beneath the sink are different symptoms. Describe where the water appears and whether it happens with the tap open, closed or both.

The enquiry may concern a kitchen mixer, bathroom tap, shower mixer, laundry fitting or outdoor tap. If water is concealed behind a wall rather than coming from the fitting, mention that first.

  • A tap that drips after being turned off.
  • Water escaping around a handle or mixer body.
  • A stiff handle or difficulty controlling flow.
  • A visible leak at a tap connection.

Repair or replace the tap?

Washers, seals and mixer cartridges are possible repair components, but the tap type and condition determine what is appropriate. A worn or damaged fitting may need replacement rather than another internal part.

Ask about suitable parts, access and the condition of the existing tapware. If you want to supply a replacement fitting, discuss compatibility before buying it. Choosing a particular style does not establish that it suits the existing plumbing.

What should you have ready?

Tell us the fixture location, how long the problem has been happening and whether there has been an earlier repair. A visible brand or model is useful if you can check it safely.

If the leak becomes an active flow, turn off an accessible water isolation valve only if it is safe and you know how. Do not force the tap tighter to try to stop a persistent drip.

Common questions

Is a shower leak always a tap repair?

No. A leaking shower mixer or outlet differs from water passing through tiles, waterproofing or a concealed pipe. Explain when and where the water appears so the right problem is discussed.
